【摘要】:Thecollectionofempiricaldatatodeterminebuildingenergyperformanceisanimportantbutcomplexandcostlyactivity.Carefuldevelopmentofenergymonitoringprojectscanmakeacrucialdifferenceinthevalueofprojectresultsrelativetotheexpense.Increasingthewidespreadunderstandingofhowenergyisusedandthetypesofservicesitprovidesincommercial,institutional,andrelated(lightindustrial,largemultifamily,andmixedcommercial/residential)buildingshasprovedtobedifficult.Thisdifficultyarisesfromthefollowingvariables:thecomplexityofbuildingsasenergysystems;thediversityofsizes,uses,schedules,andtypesofbuildings;thechangesinusesofbuildings;andthemixtureofuseswithinindividualbuildings.Thesefactorsmakebuildingenergyperformanceandenergy(anddollar)savingsfromenergyimprovementsdifficulttocategorizeandcompare.Theaudienceforthisguideisdiverse,includingenergysupplierssuchasutilities,buildingownersandmanagers,buildingoccupants,designers,publicandprivateresearchorganizations,equipmentmanufacturers,andpublicregulators.Theuserofthisguidemustbefamiliarwiththefundamentaltechniquesofengineeringprojectmanagementandenergyperformancedatacollection,datamanagement,anddataanalysis.SeeRefs(1-4)3foradiscussionoftechniquesrelatedtothecollectionandanalysisofenergyperformancedata.1.1Thisguidecoversamethodologicalapproachtodevelopingprotocolsforcollectingempiricalbuildingorfacilityenergyperformancedata.1.2Themethodologicalapproachcoveredinthisguideisappropriateforcommercialandinstitutionalbuildingsorfacilities,andwithsomeadaptations,theapproachcanalsobeusedforlargermultifamilybuildingsorsmallindustrialbuildingsorfacilities.1.3Thisguidedoesnotspecifyacompleteprojectorexperimentaldesign,thehardwareorsoftwareneededfordatacollectionanddatamanagement,orthedataanalysistechniquestobeused.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
